In the past couple of years, the Microgaming So Many and So Much series of slots has really restored the much-needed carelessness quotient to the world of online slots, which was previously dominated by graphically complex, memory-intensive giant games.
In comparison to other games in the series, like So Many Monsters, So Much Candy plays a crucial role and is by far the most well-known title. It is not at all surprising that this particular slot tops the list of all Microgaming penny slots given the current trend toward candy-themed smartphone games.
Players are given a level playing field to test their luck in a syrupy gameplay filled with potential combinations of even sweeter proportions thanks to a sweet-as-candy (uh-huh) theme.
That’s a lot of sugar for now, we guess!
If It Looks Good, It Probably Tastes Good, Too!
That is what we have always believed, and the So Much Candy slot pretty much upholds that tenet of palate. You will be spinning chaotic reels that are decorated with the most delicious-looking candies you can ever imagine from a candy jar that will suddenly spill its contents. These candies will act as the standard symbols, and your luck will determine how much of their sweetness you get to actually taste.
Even inexperienced players can use the activator with relative ease thanks to the So Many & So Much slot series’ standard Microgaming gameplay of 5×3 reels and 25 paylines. They can still use the time-tested and sensible method of fare stakes on each horse, even though the weighted distribution of coins may just get too much for them.
And It Looks SO GOOD!
The ability of So Much Candy to impress you with its incredibly cool visuals from the launch screen is its most striking feature. The tidy, minimalist interface, in keeping with the series’ overall concept, makes it very simple for players to participate.
You won’t be continuously interrupted by obtrusive pop-up windows or ads thanks to a clutter-free arrangement of menu icons and the gameplay screen itself.
So Much Candy was built on a strong HTML5 foundation and runs quickly even on smartphones, eliminating the need for extensive Flash support.
Symbols You Will Find Irresistible
The regular symbols in this slot machine are all superbly created and brilliantly colored candies that might or might not exist in real life.
It’s amazing to watch as these candies spin alongside the reels, creating a spiral-like effect. You won’t need to use the available autoplay mode from the game menu because of its eerie hypnotic effect.
Various combinations of regular symbols, from left to right only, will unlock a number of deals for you, paying out in proportions mentioned in the guide-book present at the home screen at all times.
Splitting It Up
The option to divide regular symbols into two is very advantageous from the players’ perspective. Simply put, you will have a better chance of making every spin count in the same number of slots because more combinations can be explored and hit as a result.
Sugary Wilds & Syrupy Scatters
The So Much Candy logo serves as the slot’s lone wild symbol, keeping with Microgaming tradition. If and when it does, you can use it to move your regular symbols around to make better paying combinations. However, the wild cannot replace a scatter, in this case, a Candy Canon!
With unanimous rise, we confirm that there couldn’t be a better scatter for this slot than the Candy Canon. This Canon of Sweet can appear on all the reels without exceptions. A minimum of 3 in a row will unlock the ‘Candy Bonus’ feature. Here, you will be presented a vault of candies. Once you pick any one of these candies, you will be assigned free spins corresponding to that particular pick. Candy Bonus round assuredly wins 40 or fewer free spins for you!
What We Think
So Much Candy is a slot machine that won’t give you the highest margins or multipliers. What it can provide, however, is a couple of hours of pure entertainment—a commodity that is becoming increasingly hard to find these days.
The best strategy for getting the most enjoyment out of this slot would therefore be to relax, fly low, enjoy the gameplay, keep any winnings in your possession, and, well, scoot!
So Much Candy Slot Review
Even though the So Much Candy mobile slot might seem like a tasty treat, sometimes more isn’t better.
We have to admit that we liked this theme better than So Much Sushi from the “So Much More” series of Microgaming slots, though So Many Monsters is still our favorite.
If you really like the idea of getting 25 symbol wins on a single payline, you have three options to choose from, all of which are identical to play and offer the same amounts to win.
Some may consider this to be a sloppy approach to slot machine design, but as long as the gameplay is enjoyable, we won’t pass judgment.
We don’t want to break the bad news but…
The gameplay could be better. It isn’t awful. Simply put, it’s not great. Which makes the generic candy theme all the more boring as you realize that all you have to look forward to is boiled candy and grating annoying music.
We’re saying that this is not mFortune Sweet King.
However, the So Much Candy slot does have a secret weapon to keep you entertained if you play some music loudly. Specifically, any of the top 5 highest paying symbols will “split” into one that can contain anywhere between 1 and 5 symbols.
How to get 25 symbol wins
Therefore, if you get three heart candies in a row, you might get a 9-symbol win if one symbol remains as one, the next symbol splits into three, and the third symbol splits into five.
The drawback of this is that it can be difficult to predict an exciting win because, if you get larger splits, a 3 symbol win can be more profitable than a 5 symbol win. Given that they only count as one symbol, wilds are almost your worst enemy.
The upside is that you can win big on multiple occasions by matching 25 symbols, so you are not dependent on the free spins to do so.
The So Much Candy slot free spins
In this So Much Candy video slot, the free spins bonus is not required to win big, but it undoubtedly helps.
Specifically because there will only be one high-paying symbol on the reel, and you get to pick it. Less free spins are awarded when the value is higher, but we discovered some interesting results when we targeted the higher value end of the scale.
Since the wins are at best marginal (you need more than 10 symbols for anything respectable), you might as well set your sights high with only 8 or 10 free spins.
If sweets aren’t your thing but split symbols appeal to you, we’d also suggest the Yggdrasil Doubles slot.

In-game bonus features
Wilds: The So Much Candy slot logo is the wild symbol and replaces all other symbols except scatters.
Gumball machines are scatter symbols, and three or more of them will start a round of free spins.
Following that, you will have a choice of free spins during which one of the top five highest paying symbols (not the Ace to Ten symbols) will replace all other high paying symbols on the reels.
- 8 free spins = win up to 320,000 coins
- 10 free spins = win up to 280,000 coins
- 12 free spins = win up to 240,000 coins
- 14 free spins = win up to 200,000 coins
- 16 free spins = win up to 160,000 coins
In order to increase the excitement, we like to tempt fate and attempt 8 to 10 free spins, but staying in the middle is typically safe.
So Much Candy Review Conclusion
Although the So Much Candy mobile slot game isn’t terrible, we would have liked a slightly more creative theme and a chance to win a little bit more than penny candies.
In our opinion, So Many Monsters is the best game in the So Much More series, but if you’re looking for something truly fantastical, you must play the Machine Gun Unicorn slot.
